2019 HOLIDAY MENU

Take the stress out of holiday entertaining this year by having the On Safari Foods team create a delicious and creative holiday meal for you. Whether you're hosting a holiday cocktail party, a holiday party for your team at work, a Christmas Eve soiree or Christmas lunch or dinner, our holiday menus have much to delight your guests.

A few things to note:

  • Please place your order 72 hours in advance of your event

  • $500 food minimum Monday-Thursday after 5pm

  • $1,500 food minimum Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Events after 5pm must be staffed

  • 10 person minimum for meals and a la carte entrees and sides

HOLIDAY LUNCH BUFFET, MENU OPTION #1 – CREATE YOUR OWN

$22.00 per person (minimum of 10 guests)

 

Entrée (Choose 1):

  • Chicken saltimbocca: chicken is layered with prosciutto, fontina, and sage, and served with San Marzano marinara and creamy polenta

  • Coq au vin: this classic French dish is perfect for any occasion, chicken is braised and simmered in red wine, with thyme, mushrooms, bacon and Cipollini onions, served with rice or mashed potatoes

  • Boeuf Bourguignon: the “ne plus ultra” of French stews, where beef is slowly braised in red wine with mushrooms and onions, served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes

  • Cumin and fennel crusted pork loin, served with French lentil stew, infused with red wine vinegar

  • Salmon and spinach cannelloni with béchamel sauce

  • Chicken and spinach cannelloni with San Marzano marinara sauce

  • Spinach cannelloni with your choice of bechamel or marinara sauce

  • Stuffed roasted vegetables: acorn squash, zucchini or bell peppers are filled with lentils and roasted vegetables

 

Salad (Choose 1):

  • Mixed greens with roasted pears, candied walnuts, gorgonzola, and lemon-maple vinaigrette

  • Mixed greens with half dried tomatoes, capers, and a lemon Dijon vinaigrette

  • Roasted beet salad with spinach, pickled red onion, candied pecans, gorgonzola, and house vinaigrette

  • Caesar salad: chopped romaine tossed with crunchy croutons, parmesan and our classic Caesar dressing

  • Salad of mixed greens with fresh mixed vegetables and house balsamic dressing

HOLIDAY LUNCH BUFFET, MENU OPTION #2 – OUR TAKE ON TRADITIONAL

$32.00 per person (minimum 20 guests)

 

  • Boeuf Bourguignon (A taste of France lies at your doorstep with this ne plus ultra of French braises: beef is slowly braised in red wine and served with a garnish of onions and mushrooms) (6 oz.)

  • Hempler ham glazed with ginger, apricot, and brown sugar, served with Dijon mustard (3 oz.)

  • Mashed potatoes (choice of plain or roasted garlic)

  • Medley of roasted root vegetables and squashes

  • Salad of mixed greens with dried cranberries, candied pecans, goat cheese, and a white balsamic vinaigrette

  • Assorted Macrina rolls and butter

  • Selection of On Safari’s house made holiday cookies & bars

HOLIDAY DINNER, MENU OPTION #1 – SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT

$34.00 per person (minimum of 10 guests)

  • House-smoked trout on brown bread with horseradish-lemon butter

  • Spanakopita

  • Mushroom pate served with crusty bread and brandied cranberry compote

 

Dinner

  • Roasted tenderloin of pork (6oz), served with roasted apples, dried cranberries, thyme and onions

  • Acorn squash stuffed with a tru-root, pinenut, and vegetable pilaf (Vegetarian option)

  • Garlic mashed potatoes OR Wild and brown rice pilaf

  • Sautéed green beans

  • Salad of mixed greens with blue cheese, candied pecans, dried cranberries, and a white balsamic vinaigrette

HOLIDAY DINNER, MENU OPTION #2 – CLASSIC WITH A TWIST

$48.00 per person (minimum 20 guests) (requires a cook on-site)

  • Bacon, spinach, and leek stuffed mushrooms

  • Zucchini rollup with goat cheese, harissa, lime, and pine nuts

 

Dinner

  • Smoked prime rib of beef, served with horseradish cream and au jus (6oz)

  • Salmon and spinach cannelloni with béchamel sauce (1pp)

  • Portobello mushroom stuffed with lemon, sage and rosemary-infused pureed cannellini beans, spinach, sautéed onions and peppers (vegetarian option)

  • Scalloped potatoes

  • Sautéed broccolini

  • Salad of mixed greens with toasted hazelnuts, candied kumquats, goat cheese, and cardamom-white balsamic vinaigrette
